Q. Do we need MYOB to use the UCAP Package?
A. Yes you need the latest Version of MYOB Accounting Plus. To get started by having MYOB simply reply to Benkorp with the Order Form from the Download section of this website: www.benkorp.com/ucap (select downloads).

Q. What is included in the UCAP Package?
A. You will receive:
1. The CD contains a UCAP datafile for the current financial year; ready for you to start transaction data entry.
2. a Customised MYOB Invoice Form, and, a Payroll Advice Form,
3. The CD contains a UCAP Sample datafile; so you can see how MYOB is used with UCAP and follow through the Manual.
4. a Manual. The Manual includes instructions on how to load your software and the UCAP package and information on how to use MYOB for a Uniting Congregation.

Q. What if we have an old version of MYOB?
A. You will need to upgrade to version the latest version. You can do this by downloading the order form from this website: www.benkorp.com/ucap (select downloads).

Q. Why do I need to upgrade to the current version of MYOB?
A. The current version of MYOB has the current PAYG Tax Tables and satisfies the new requirements for Pay slips and the annual Payment Summaries (ex Group Certificates) and superannuation compliance. You will not need to manually calculate the tax to be deducted from employees' pays.
MYOB has many full time dedicated technical support staff that can answer many questions directly.
MYOB Cover includes 12 months of technical telephone support and all upgrades released in the 12 month cover period. There generally two upgrades in each 12 month period.
MYOB Cover is cheaper than the cost of an upgrade as well as including 12 months technical phone support.

Q. Why do I need Accounting Plus software? (Why not BusinessBasics or Accounting?)
A. The MYOB Accounting Plus software includes the payroll function. The UCAP package has been designed to include the payroll function. Congregations are encouraged to use this for the payment of any staff including the minister, because it automates and manages all aspects of payroll payments and record keeping. MYOB BusinessBasics and MYOB Accounting do not include these functions.
No extra spreadsheets are required. All the payroll data can be kept within the MYOB datafile. Once set up, the MYOB Payroll function automatically calculates and posts all pays and associated accruals in one transaction. The MYOB Payroll function also uses the payroll transactions and produces the annual Payment Summaries. All Payroll details are then automatically included in the BAS preparation in MYOB BASLink.

Q. What skills do we need to use the package?
A. MYOB is a very user-friendly accounting package. There are more than 500,000 users around the world, including congregations and businesses. Most users are untrained in accounting.
It would be helpful, but not essential, for the person using the package to have some understanding of bookkeeping and basic knowledge of accounts. It is essential to know your way around a computer.

Q. What if I need help?
A.1. Training. Benkorp offers a 3 hour training introduction for initial users.
You can order more time later if you wish. If you are in the Sydney Metro area this can be done on site at your congregation office and you can have more than one participant. For country congregations you are more than welcome to book some training at the Benkorp office in Sydney. Alternatively, if you can gather a group of congregations in your area/Presbytery you are welcome to talk with us to arrange training locally.
Benkorp has provided training for country and city Presbyteries on location.

Q. How do I order the package?
A.Download the order form on this website. Then mail in the order form with a cheque or if you wish you can email the form to: hello@benkorp.com and direct debit the payment. It will take approximately one week from our receipt of the order to delivery.

Q. We don't really have anyone (who can do this in our congregation. Can you help us?)
A.Benkorp may be able to recommend a bookkeeper in your area or presbytery. Give us a call or send us an email. Otherwise contact your Presbytery Treasurer.

Q. Do I need to purchase MYOB Cover?
A.MYOB Cover is recommended as it provides you with regular (12 monthly) upgrades free of additional charges.
It also provides telephone support for any technical questions you may have about MYOB software.
They will not be able to offer you support relating to the UCAP accounts and procedures.
